Maker spirit is very much a part of our school culture here at IAA.... as evidenced here by this impromptu Valentine-inspired origami work. We were using origami paper for a Bob Shea-Unicorn Thinks He's Pretty Great meets Ed Emberley thumbprint and marker style art project (Go Red Clover award nominees!) when a 3rd grader started teaching everyone at her table how to make these great origami hearts. As we were wrapping up at the end of the period, she volunteered to make an instructable/tutorial with a friend, so that other classes could make them, too. Makers rock! Love their willingness to share (and what a great procedural writing opportunity.)
