Kindergarten through 2nd graders met a three-headed Alphabet Monster and "The Alphabet Monster" poem by Robert Heidbreder. From the book Marc Brown's Scared Silly, The Alphabet Monster was part of our first Poetry Break series. Inspired by the work of educator Caroline Feller Bauer, we hope this is just the first of many more "Poetry Breaks" to come.
Students in grades 3-5 were treated to a rousing rendition of "Double, Double, Toil and Trouble" from William Shakespeare's Macbeth. Theater Coach Joan Robinson (shown here, on right), Miss Amy and Miss Leanne made wickedly delightful witches, and even offered their audiences a taste of the brew when it was finally "firm and good."
