Mrs. Hayes' 4th graders have been enjoying reading Poppy by Avi. Here's a glog that tells us a little bit more about the author: (We can't wait to see the glogs our 4th graders create on their own using the glogster edu tool!)
_ We recommend the book Smile. It is a comic book, for those who like comic books. It’s about a girl whose name is Riana and she loses her two front grown up teeth. She gets special braces when she is in sixth grade. She goes to seventh grade and she falls in love with a sixth grader. Her friends keep telling her that she likes a “tiny tot sixth grader.” That's all we're going to say. Hope you enjoy it!! Have a great time reading.
There's a quiet buzz in our library this morning. 4th graders from Mrs. Mancuso's class just arrived and are book shopping. It's nice to hear students talking about books, "you should read Hatchet, it's a really good book." Overheard: "Why do they shave the dog's legs like that?" referring to the Lowchen breed of dogs. "Who's your favorite character in Dark Life?" Students are recording their DCF books, collaborating on book reviews, commenting on classmate blog posts, browsing the shelves and baskets, and best of all... cozying up with a book, individually or in small groups, in the many spaces in our library learning center. A few students were so excited to share they got a bit loud, but they settled down nicely. I'm so proud of our students!
